Another entry in the Robert Langdon universe is more similar than it is different to previous works. Genius Prof. Langdon and a hip sexy sidekick go an adventure, mysteries are unraveled, and ultimately the day is saved. You kind of know what you’re going to get.

While I saw the end coming, I was pleasantly surprised to find some commentary on technology and how it is changing our world and perspective. Reminiscent of one of Brown’s earlier work, Digital Fortress, he shines when discussing both art and technology (at least to me, a lay person). If you liked the previous adventures, you’ll like this one. If this is your first Brown, I’d go with Da Vinci.

I listened to this audiobook and thoroughly enjoyed it (even though I haven't read or listened to any other Robert Langdon books). The concept was intriguing and the descriptions were detailed. This book involved a lot of art and because of the descriptions, I could sometimes guess the art or artist before he mentioned it. I felt like I was physically standing in the art gallery while reading (which was especially nice for me because I was driving long distance and I don't like driving).

The topics in this book were highly controversial and even challenging for me to hear sometimes. It was nice to feel challenged. I also enjoyed the constant excitement of this book in the form of mystery and chase surrounded by science, technology and religion. It was an intellectually stimulating fiction read. Also, the audiobook had fabulous voice acting!

I love Dan Brown/Robert Langdon books, and this one did not disappoint me. The book presents a very good look at the creation/evolution discussion, and makes some interesting points along the way. Just enough action, intrigue, and fascination to keep me interested and reading all the way through. If you are a fan of Dan Brown, this is a must read.

So far I’ve loved all Dan Brown novels. His edge of your seat thrillers never disappoint.
