I do love this series. My only complaint is that it's a little repetitive for those who have read the entire series. I don't need explanations on who everyone is and how they fit into Boxer's life.

I've read all the books in this series so far, but this one didn't grab me, even though it had some big events and twists in it. I miss the comraderie between the 4 friends that used to a strong part of this series - it's still mentioned, but it just doesn't feel as genuine.

23rd Midnight didn’t hit the mark. While it’s a fast-paced read with familiar characters, it lacked surprises and didn’t feel as engaging as some of the earlier books in the series.

A dangerous copycat killer is on the loose, recreating murders from the WMC’s past, but with new twists. Detective Lindsay Boxer was the one who put serial killer Evan Burke behind bars, while reporter Cindy Thomas turned his crimes into a bestselling book. Now, someone obsessed with Burke’s story is using it as inspiration, adding their own brutal signature to the crimes. As Lindsay hunts down the elusive killer, the entire Murder Club finds itself in the crosshairs, facing a threat that could tear them apart.

While the book had its moments, I found it more focused on the personal lives of the characters than the mystery.

Okay, this is the 23rd book in the Women's Murder Club. I really enjoyed the books at the beginning of the series; however, the books have gotten somewhat tired as the series has progressed. Additionally, it is evident that James Patterson is not writing, but rather supervising the writing of this series.

The premise is great - four female friends who work together: a homicide cop, coroner, prosecutor, and newspaper reporter. This series could have been SO much more. But, it is fluffy and easy to read.

I would definitely suggest reading the TWENTY-TWO other books first.
