The word intimate in the title is a gross understatement.
Motherhood in this book is totally unfiltered and the angle taken is so raw with emotion.
In reading the father’s section I see the yin and yang perfectly with these parents. They tell their story perfectly in unison and with individuality preserved at the same time. It was just poetic for me.
While I am not a huge fan of raunchy comedy, she made me giggle in some of her letters to her girls, and could imagine her girls later in life saying “ohemgee Mom” with a hand to the forehead while reading about her comedic style, and giggling. Because who doesn’t have a mom who is embarrassing and funny at the same time?

I absolutely adored this read!! I picked this up because I started running and this book made running more tolerable.
I know Ali wrote this for her daughters but it felt very big sisterly to me. Ali offers a lot of great advice and perspective on so many aspects of life: how to plan weddings, pregnancies and miscarriages, relationships, traveling, food, how to stay grounded, and so much more. I'll probably buy a physical copy of this haha

Trying to get through things on my TBR list- this one unfortunately missed the mark for me. Ali Wong is known for being a vulgar comedian so I shouldn’t be surprised her memoir was pretty crude. There were nuggets that were interesting. However, it fell short for me but I think fans of her would probably like it.

I thought this was a fun audiobook, I always enjoy memoirs read by the author. I really liked the ways she talks about sexuality and the need to de-sexualize herself for comedy but I gathered that some her politics seemed centrist and I didn't always like how she talked about other women in her book. I find her very funny but also her takes on certain things feel a little off-putting.
