Very high quality audiobook, with Andrew Garfield voiceacting. I just layed down and listened with my eyes closed, through the whole audiobook, it was quite relaxing even with the themes of the book and the ending.

It’s hard to rate 1984 - it’s relevance seems to permeate all elements of pop culture, and the rise of AI technology and right leaning governments worldwide has made it feel relevant all over again in 2025. A challenging (albeit fast) read but essential for all Americans.

When I first read this in high school, I gave it a 2. Reading this as an adult in today's society will switch a perspective around fast. I wasn't sure whether to mark it as slow or medium-paced given how quickly things escalate (in a very bad way) for Winston at the end. Either way, an absolute solid read.
