Ashley Poston does it again. I liked the venturing into the celebrity realm. I was sobbing at the end. In my head, Ashley can do no wrong.

Another banger from Ashley Poston. The magical realism was super fun without being overboard, the chemistry was off the charts, and every single side character was an incredible value add to the story.

When
the MCs finally get together after Joni's failed date with her ex, it's sooo satisfying. The spicy scenes aren't over the top and they add to the story.
The family dynamics are complicated while still being fun.

The Seven Year Slip is still my favorite Poston book, but this is a close second.

When reading Sounds Like Love, it did just that---read like love.

Joni Lark and Sebastian Fell are adorable, messy, and realistic, even in Ashley Poston's dreamlike world where all music enthusiasts got to live-out their fantasy of falling in love with a famous musician (Is this play about us?). So what, if the in-each-other's mind thing would work on me... That's what a therapist is for.

What I love more so is Ashley Poston's choice to be whimsical with her romance, with her writing, cringy it may be, but that's the thrill of it. She does not shy from the magical realism because what's life if not a little magical?

Sounds Like Love was more than just a romance, this was a love song (ba dum tss) to creators and dreamers, to the author and her memories. To her grandmother. To the what-if's we never had and the acceptance of the choices we made and making that the new dream.

This one just hurts.
