"Because sometimes the idea of something is far more powerful than the reality. And a year is a long time. A lifetime for some."

Another solid Kindle First Read! Our main characters Alice and Ben first meet in a less than ideal place - the cemetery while visiting their recently lost loved ones. Due to Ben dressed in questionable attire, the two strike up a conversation about grief and loss, knowing each other knows what the other is going through. They end up meeting at the cemetery on the same day each year for the next 10 years.

It's a story of love, loss and hope.

Oh my god, this was absolutely fantastic!

I fell in love with Alice and Ben as characters, and in a book that leaves them so vulnerable and open and real, it was hard not to become so attached to them. What probably did not help was the semi-recent death in my family which I haven't entirely coped with yet, and this book definitely helped me understand my feelings with that incident in an enjoyable yet realistic way.

If I had to complain about one thing, I felt as if the forced fight at the end was not necessary, especially given how quickly they make up. The connection between Ben and Alice's dearly departed also felt unnecessary and kind of messed up with the point of Ben and Alice's relationship (i.e the sudden connection based off their losses).
