Very good story, but I was spoiled by the hallmark movie...and Allison Sweeney.

I liked the cozy vibes of the bakery and the cat and the amateur sleuthing.
I noticed from the beginning that the main character had very "not like other girls" vibes and criticized other women's appearances and career choices. She's kind of mean.
Of course elements of the sleuthing were far fetched.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this and finished it in two days! It made me realize I need to get into the cozy mystery genre, but perhaps with more modern series that are less sexist.

Moderate: Domestic abuse, Murder
Nice book to listen to while walking. I'm going to try for listening to all the Hannah Swensen mysteries this year.

Like other similar mystery authors Joanne Fluke writes a decent mystery that keeps me guessing. Her books are easy reads and enjoyable as well. They lack a depth that makes writers like, oh say, Mary Higgins Clark, successful but by no means are they poor.
As with most of this genre of mystery I usually can't figure out the "who dun it" until the reveal and that's what keeps me reading the books.
The themed mystery books are nice because you get use to a particular set of main characters and drawn into their personal stories as well as the current mystery they are trying to solve.
Joanne Fluke and her books keep a spot on my "to read" list. :)

If you want to read something entertaining, but that doesn't really make you think at all, this is your book. I like a good mystery and this was fun for that, but it just didn't have anything particularly memorable or unexpected.
