This was a fun and easy read. I didn’t suspect the culprit until maybe a chapter or so before the reveal. I love the baking element and I like the characters. I wasn’t dying to pick the book back up each time I put it down. I wouldn’t consider it a real page turner or anything, but it was a good time. There was definitely some body shaming and antiquated terminology used that some people might take offense to. It wasn’t enough to make me hate this book. I’m just hoping the author does better on that front in the later books of the series. I could see myself reading more in the future, and I definitely want to try all of the recipes. Yum!

Once you read really great cozy mysteries, other ones seem to fall flat. No doubt this book would be better in print vs audio because of the recipes.

This is my favorite book in the series. I liked it a lot. Its fun and easy to read, the characters are great and the town is so cute it makes me happy reading about it. The killers its not so obvious and I had fun trying to figure out who was he. Its not as good as an Agatha Christie novel, but its good enough.
Tried the choc. chip cookie recipe and didnt turn out so good. I like mine better.

This story was a little too…Y2K for me. I was a preteen when this was written so it makes me cringe a little at some of the things that were “ok” then but are bright red flags now. (If you’re younger than me, or older than me, you might not have this reaction! Maybe it’ll be nostalgic or retro to you. )
Hannah is a relatable and likable character, even if you’re smacking your forehead at some of her “brilliant plans.”
I was surprised that the thing that makes me want to pick up the next book is the hint at a romance plot… I want to find out how that goes!

I read cozies for a break from dark mysteries and know sometimes a step from reality is needed.
This series has a strong following I just won't be a fan.
My problems is with inchapters Hannah seems to be running the investigations instead of the cops, the relationship with her mother was painful to read and the reason for the murder was lame
