I think just based on the age of the book, a few too many cringe worthy statements. Easy story and nice character set up though. Also liked the place making of a small town.

You know what?!? I picked this book up on a whim and I definitely enjoyed it. It's one of the first cozy mysteries that I've read and I loved it. If you're a foodie I would recommend picking this up. The author includes recipes for all of the food she talks about considering that our main character owns a cookie shop. Hannah is a great character. I loved her sense of humor and independence. She definitely handled her own in this case. As far as the conclusion of the case, I didn't really see it coming until the very end when there was a little twist. I liked the fact that every time you thought you knew who killed who you were proved wrong. I can't wait to continue reading the rest of the these books (there's currently 21 *gasp*) and I definitely will be doing a full review of this one.

This book was an easy read, but very entertaining. I can't say no to a murder mystery that is full of cookie recipes! I'm going to see what the next installment in the series is like, [book:Strawberry Shortcake Murder].

The book I read said it was released in 2007, but this is the only one I could find, so I'm assuming they're the same and this just has a new cover.

I HATED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK - WITH A PASSION.

I am a bakery owner. I am a true crime lover. Everything about this book makes me rage.

No one fucking ASKED Hannah to put her nose into everything. The book reads like it was released in 1981. They make a passing comment about a "retarded" person that owned a home in town, and left it at that. Why did that need to be in there?

The main character is condescending and weird. She seems to have a lot of weird flaws, none of which actually develop. But most of all, what kind of monster uses melted butter to make cookies?!?!?!

Delicious Read

Picked the one up in preparation of Alison Sweeney's hallmark movie- the story was light and fluffy with the delightfultreat of written recipes interspersed throughout the novel

a fun and silly read, who doesn’t love a small town murder mystery. would’ve rated it higher if it weren’t for the large amount of plot holes, weird pro cop undertones, and the fact our queen hannah solves a double hominids and gives all the credit to her lousy brother in law
lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

The mystery itself was interesting, but the author over-describes every little detail and the love interests feel thrown in for no reason. Also, it never really made sense why her BIL was asking for her help.

If you like Murder She Wrote and baking then you'll love this series! It is a good read, lighthearted, and a fun mystery to solve!

This mystery was fun, but I didn’t need the trope of the main character’s mother always trying to set her up with a guy.
I did appreciate the solution to the mystery. The racist tropes of past mystery novels weren’t present.
