This mystery was fun, but I didn’t need the trope of the main character’s mother always trying to set her up with a guy.
I did appreciate the solution to the mystery. The racist tropes of past mystery novels weren’t present.

I had such high hope for this novel. Sadly it fell short of my expectations. I guess I could blame it on Hallmark for hyping it up. Overall, the plot is solid. You can follow along as Hannah solves the case and try to figure it out on your own. The clues of very obvious to spot before Hannah even realizes it herself. One thing that some of these cozies lack are characters that solve their own mystery. Thankfully, this gave me that satisfaction but left me a little lost at the end when things came very quickly together. I felt that the epilogue wasn't needed and was used just to advance the romantic plot that could have helped tremendously in the rest of the plot. I'm sure sure if I want to continue. If anything, it's worth it to try it yourself even if it's just for the recipes!

Easy read. It was a fun entertaining Hallmark movie like mystery.

I loved this first book in the series. This was a very lighthearted murder mystery book; however, I did not suspect the killer at all. I'm looking forward to reading the many other books in this series.
lighthearted mysterious

Definitely would describe as a cozy mystery.

The narrator was way too mature to voice this character. For a character who is supposed to be close to 30, she sounds like she’s 50 plus, and that was distracting and hard to reconcile. I think I might have liked it more if they had hired a more suitable narrator

Short and fun, lightweight murder mystery reading. The mystery was sufficiently tangled, the characters were a bit hit-or-miss, but nothing grated. All in all, an easy, enjoyable read. Includes some yummy-sounding recipes (I seem to be reading a lot of books with recipes lately (without any particular intention of doing so) -- someone must be telling me that I need to cook more!)

cutesy little story. cant wait to try some cookies. this is familiar but I cannot place why. I've read something very similar but without the cookies and I dont know where. Its bugging me but not enough for me to scroll through my goodreads books to find out....especially since I do not have 'everything' that I've ever read listed.

but it is cute and I'll continue the series.

I read this cozy mystery for a reading challenge, and was entertained. The mystery is okay, but Hannah is engaging enough for me to try other books in this series. I'm annoyed, however, by how she allows her brother-in-law cop to take all the credit.
