As poetry is not my reading of choice normally I am branching out a bit here. I read this because of a reference from another book as research. Rich and sensual language is used as an allegory for sexual temptation, pleasure and danger. Will have to reread this several times to appreciate it properly. Another reference from the same book is for Emily Dickinson which I find a lot more accessible and stimulating than Rosetti. Time will tell...

I love everything about this tiny book comprised of one very long, vividly gorgeous and foreboding poem which tells a tale to warn every young woman to steer clear the goblin market, regardless of it's allure.
Lyrical writing and suggestive language used to create atmosphere and the message the author intended came across. I enjoyed the ending as well - truly a sisters love can save one.
