3.6 AVERAGE

Okay, this one's on me. I picked this up without even glancing at the synopsis, and that was only the first mistake.

Cinderella falling in love with someone other than her prince? No thank you! My belief in true love has to stem from somewhere and I won't let this boring book ruin it for me.

Ella was incredibly whiny about her circumstances, despite having everything she needs at her fingertips. Sure, she can't have every one of her heart's desires, but she has the basics, something that can't be said about her former situation. Instead she moans about the crusty bread in her village. Sounds like the Cinderella I remember.

What a surprise- DNF.

Did not like this one as much as other fairy tale re-tellings, but it was a fun and easy one-day read.

It's a simple story and I really liked it. Only reason I have not given it 5 stars is because of personal taste(aka I wanted it to be a bit longer).

This is a Cinderella reimaging that takes a look at what happens after Happily Ever After.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a super short read, this book is only 208 pages. I read this book in one sitting.

Because this book was such a short book there wasn’t much time to focus on supporting characters. The story really focused on Ella and her struggles with life in the palace.

I liked how the book kept reminding us she was only 15 years old. She was struggling to find her freedom and what makes her happy.

I give this book a B-.

I hated this book because Ella Enchanted was amazing then Margaret Peterson Haddix had to go in and write something completely different and as a kid I thought this was the sequel to Ella Enchanted (which always made me mad). It wasn't until I was a full-fledged adult who grew up thinking this was the sequel and hating it, that I found out it wasn't. So needless to say, I still don't like it because it tricked me.

I love fairytale retellings! And I liked how this one brought it back to reality..... Though I was hoping for one more chapter.

One of my favorite fairy-tale retakes - and less predictable than most.
