Blitzed through this, really enjoyed getting to meet all the characters in Park's family and learning about their backstories. Also enjoyed the introduction of Eli (and it looks like he gets his own series at some point, so I'll probably check that out as well).

I feel like there are still some loose ends with Stuart and Dr. Freedman (sp?), but maybe they'll come up again in later books?

I did have to lol at the whole
Cooper is Park's alpha thing. Like, in retrospect it actually makes total sense because Park has always been very deferential to Cooper, but I really thought we were gonna mostly avoid the "alpha" talk. It's just so... cringe.

I get why people say the mystery in this book is not as engaging as in the previous books, but I loved the romance and relationship aspect so, so much. Getting to know more about werewolves and their customs was great. In this book, we see more of Oliver and what he has been hiding and that was such a nice change. Cooper became one of my favourite characters of my romance binge, I love his development and how fiercely he cares for his boyfriend. I love them both to death, and I love reading about them and how they overcome the hurdles on their journey. Also can I say something I forgot to mention in my previous review - Oliver calling Cooper « Porcupine » because the man is a soft prickly softie is the cutest shit ever. I love how they explore their vulnerabilities and bare themselves to make their relationship work. It’s something that’s hard for both of them, Cooper and Oliver have their own issues, but they do get there. I just love them so much. I need the kind of sweet Cooper and Oliver have injected directly in my veins, thanks.

“I love you,” Park said, holding him against his chest. “Really love you. I mean it.”
“That’s awkward, ’cause I’ve just been joking this whole time.”
Park yanked on the back of his sweaty shirt. “Porcupine. Why do I have such a soft spot for bastards?”

There are so many quotes I have adored in this book, I wanna save them all in my heart forever. So, so excited to read book 4 tomorrow because apparently it is amazing <3 also added Eli’s book in my plan to read, to jump into it after I am done with Cooper and Oliver’s story (i am not ready to say goodbye though :,))) )

It’s been too long since I last read [b:The Wolf at Bay|39675787|The Wolf at Bay (Big Bad Wolf, #2)|Charlie Adhara|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1528870436l/39675787._SY75_.jpg|61270807], but time and distance have not dampened my love for Oliver Park and this latest entry, though extremely quite vexing, just reaffirmed his status in my top favorites once again.

So, a lot of werewolf dynamics are finally revealed, as well as Park’s past that is both surprising and sobering, obviously shaping the man he is now. Cooper finds himself smack dab in the middle of crazy shifter politics, shady rivalries, and a less than welcoming family that only wants the best for Park, and Cooper sure ain’t it.

Amongst the consistent super swoony love story that doles out its yumminess oh so slowly, Adhara continues to impress with the stellar mysterious going-ons threatening the very existence of werewolves that is hanging on a precipice of discovery. This kept me anxious and guessing til literally the bloody end, and I was held rapt.

Overall, this is top notch romantic suspense with a hell yeah paranormal bent to it. It’s smart, it’s sexy, it’s compelling. Oh and there’s alpha werewolf Oliver Park. Have I mentioned him before?? Gorgeous, beautiful inside and out, a man who is as solid and strong as he is vulnerable. Mmmm hmmmm. Cooper is understandably caught, and so am I.
