A wonderful, hopeful, Christmas classic, and a must read for anyone who believes (or needs to believe) in Christmas magic. One of my new favorite Christmas stories!

A very cute story about Christmas that I think would be fun to read to my child leading up to Christmas. It has a bit of action, a bit of humor and just enough heart to not be saccharine sweet.

MY FAVORITE CHRISTMAS NOVEL SO FAR!

Now mr Haig, I didnt expect to be crying about a cute little christmas middle grade but the writitng was simply so beautiful I couldnt hold them back in the end.

The way he writes about love and the passing of loved ones is simply so beautiful I cant even explain.

Also I think the minimal incorporation if the historical details was great and children would love them.

Perfect Christmas Novel.

A properly fantastic holiday book to read aloud to the kids.
I attempted some hilarious voices, they loved the illustrations.
We loved the message delivered at the end despite the very bleak beginning.
It was a nice way to end each evening with my kiddos through the month of December.

The Girl Who Saved Christmas by Matt Haig is a great follow on from A Boy Called Christmas. Another fantastic tale of how important believing in magic is, especially for the young. To believe something impossible is possible is a great lesson to teach any youngster, especially in today's society. The story is both sad and uplifting, drawing on life's ups and downs and several historical wrongs involving the treatment of children. The books follow on beautifully from one another, and Matt Haig takes his story and plants it firmly in your mind's eye, so you are almost living beside Nicholas and everyone he meets on his journey to becoming Father Christmas.

Amelia lives in the magical town of Elfhelm, newly adopted by Father Christmas and Mary Christmas. When the very jealous Easter Bunny launches an attack to ruin Christmas, it's up to Amelia, her family and the elves to fight off the forces of evil. The illustrations by Chris Mould help make the world and plot fascinating enough to keep you reading chapter to chapter. I haven't read Father Christmas and Me, but it'll be on my Christmas radar!

This is a great series and we really enjoyed reading the 2nd book together my 5 year old and I. It was a book that was hard to put down, full of magic and a great story. The story has a great central message as well.

Such a beautiful, warm, magical christmas story :) I love Matt Haig´s Christmas serie. It is a Christmas must read :)

I was given this book at Christmas a few years ago and wanted to save it for a future festive read.

This was a gorgeous children’s book - it was funny and definitely reminiscent of Enid Blyton. Matt Haig really worked magic here and I’m sure I would have adored this as a child.
