It has turned into a family tradition to share Matt Haig's Christmas books at this time of year. I will be sad this time next year when we will complete this trilogy.
The Girl Who Saved Christmas has some predictability for an adult reader but children will and did love it.

That was a cute, charming Christmas story. I really liked the first one when I read it last year, and this one was great too. There was a lot of humor, and I loved the cameos from Charles Dickens and Queen Victoria. I also liked that the word “impossible” was a swear word to the elves. Highly recommend this series.

Thoughts
I don't know what it was about this but I didn't love it as much as the first. There was too much happening which usually I love but because it was a short book I feel like the plots were very surface level and didn't get enough time with the story.
The overall message I love even though it was nonsensical. That is the point of these books which is fine and I'm into. But the logic for this felt a bit flat I will admit.
Overall though it was a Christmas read which I was after and if you're after a bit of nonsense with a few deeper topics then pick this up. You might enjoy it more than me.
Ps I feel like this review was a bit negative. I did enjoy this for the festive season I was just disappointed because I liked the first one more. But that's okay.

It’s super cute. Meant for pre teens but anyone could read it. Some more adult jokes get slipped in. I love the idea that this girl saves all of Christmas. It was a fast, cute read to get me in the holiday spirit and definitely worked.
