I tend to not throw "worst of all time" around too much, but this was literally the worst book I've read. The criticism and satire are so explicit and on the nose, most characters have a couple of chapters about them and then follow the "new" protagonists around like NPCs. I would have never read it if it wasn't for school, which is weird because I usually like the ones out teacher gives us.

My First Dickens! Did not expect to be this entertained by some dude from 1850s England. This was my designated Bus Book but it didn’t last long because I actually couldn’t stop reading.

Great prose. The novel was extremely interesting in the first book, but over the course of the second and the third my initial intrigue dissipated until nothing was left and I just wanted it to end. Climax isn't really all that interesting either so that didn't save it for me. It starts out as a 4.5-5, but will end lower and lower depending on how interesting you find the events.
