I found the beginning so long and slow, full of the popular and rich kids just drinking and partying, it was too long and over the top. The middle was horrific in terms of the degree of bullying and religiously rooted homophobia. It was painful to witness, in a way that just made me uncomfortable and felt more like a caricature. The ending was so short and somehow all that homophobia just kinda went away?? Idk... It felt too neat. And Hannah deserves way way better.

A little slow in parts and too reliant on finding compassion/acceptance from god, but I think the premise and storytelling was really beautiful. The characters were all flawed, but written in a way that they felt relatable.

Trigger warning: homophobia, Christians and a lot of gay Christian shame
