This is about a 3.5 review. I usually don't like to do half reviews but I still love this series and I think that this one just lost me a bit in the end. I wasn't sure if I just wasn't in the mood to mix fairies and the Underworld right away. I absolutely loved the first two but this one seemed to push be instead of lead me to the end. I'm also still trying to get used to the fact that all 300+ pages happens within a day or two which seems insane since I'm not used to fast paced books. I'm glad we got to learn about Jenny but some of the things happening in this seems a bit far fetched to me (I know I sound hypocritical since the last book literally had a dragon in it) but sometimes it just felt like Ritter was throwing random things in a kettle and hoping to get tea.

Ghostly Echoes by William Ritter is the third book in the Jackaby series. This book focuses on Jackoby's and Rook's ghostly friend, Jenny Cavanaugh. Jenny was murdered a decade earlier and has been confined to her house as a ghost. While she has played a role in previous Jackaby novels, this book answers a lot of questions about who Jenny was before, and why she was murdered.
I have really enjoyed the Jackaby novels so far. I especially enjoy the audiobook versions. Ghostly Echoes was really cool because we finally got some of Jenny Cavanaugh's backstory! I think Ritter did a fantastic job of propelling the series' plot forward while also giving us a mini plot arch for this book. I also think he is witty! I just love these characters and the mess they seem to get themselves in!
I would recommend this book (and this series) to anyone who enjoys the historic fiction, mystery, and paranormal genres.

The richest and most satisfying installment in the Jackaby series. Seems to be the first installment of a three-part storyline about the fate of humanity.

Another great book in this series. It definitely added different elements to the story than the first two and sets up for the final books very well. Looking forward to reading The Dire King this summer.
I so enjoy this series!! I love the characters and their adventures.
