I like this world. This third book felt more similar to the first, which was good since I felt the second was a bit of a let down. I was a little surprised that things didn't resolve fully (I'm assuming there will be another book), but I was engrossed enough with the story, and enough was revealed, that I didn't mind.

Review to come.

This is another solid installment in the Jackaby series. This is the third book out of four, so obviously there is a lot here that is series plot and does not get resolved at the end of the book. However, the book plot—Jenny's story—does get fully resolved, and in a very satisfying way.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I correctly guessed some elements, but it’s still a great story and the author made me love the characters even more.

The suspense is getting more intense!

What new did this volume bring?
We got to know Jenny a lot more. Her background, past life as well as her feelings and abilities.

Everything is coming together so well, and it is easy to see how everything from the first volume to the last (Next book) have been nicely planned.

We get a bit more under Jackerby's skin in this one - And I loved it! His thoughts and feelings, about the world, himself and his situation and even a bit of his past!

Rook, as always, is a wonderful narrator and every time Jackaby starts his big explanations Rook is faithfully with us - asking what on earth he might be talking about. Her bravery shines in this one and she feels so very real in this supernatural mystery tale.

Once more I must just say how much I love the duo of Jackaby and Rook. How they support and spare with each other as well as how they complete each other as a team.
There is even a little extra chapter after the story have been told - a moment between Jackaby and Rook, taking place the night after the last chapter.
New information was shared between the two and yet so much left vocally unsaid (by jackaby), yet told so very well by the tone, the eyes and the mood.

This series has definitely made an impact on me and I enjoy it so very much! With its mystery, the setting, the suspense, the thrill, the humor and the wonderful colourful characters! I do believe Jackaby may be one of my favourite factional characters ^_^

 Title: Ghostly Echoes
 Series: Jackaby #3
 Author: William Ritter
Genre: Fantasy, Mystery, Young Adult, Historical Fiction, Paranormal
 Rating: 3.5/5
 Review:

Ritter jumps into the third book of the series in full force. Like books 1 and 2 we continue with out favorite detective and his assistance. Ghostly echoes is slightly different than the others however. While in book 1 and 2, Ritter seemed to have fun with the playful banter and outlandish cases of his characters… In Book 3 everything seems to be coming together to form a dastardly plot that will no doubt continue into book 4.

Ghostly Echoes is darker and has a bit more of a serious tone than the beginning books but does not seem to suffer from it in the least. The banter among characters is still as humorous and endearing as ever, only the stakes are set about a bit higher (pun intended).

I’ve loved this series immensely and continue to do so. I can’t wait to start book 4 😊
