I can't recommend this enough for fiances and husbands! My husband and I are about to order a bunch as gifts. Thorough, genuinely helpful, practical, but nicely succinct. Really great book, well done.

{I was provided an ARC by the publisher in exchange for a review.}

This is like 90% similar to the girl's version, except it covers more on the topic of pornography, and it discusses women's health issues men may not be aware of or fully educated about.

Has some helpful stuff, but it and its counterpart for women rely heavily on stereotypes. If you and/or your partner don't fall into these stereotypes, it may not be helpful to you.

If something has been off in your marriage, this book could help you to turn it on (see what I did there?)

Okay, okay, I was not ashamed to read this book—I’m a fan of Sheila Gregoire and much of the work she is doing, and it’s good to learn about sex—but man, i wish this title was different. It just feels cheesy, embarrassing, condescending(?).

Anyways, this is a good book on sex with Christian values in mind. I found the book to be very practical and direct, going into detail on things like anatomy and the way things work and don’t work. It was very helpful overall.

I was hesitant to read the sections on emotional and spiritual intimacy, because I’ve read lots of marriage books and they feel the same. This one was refreshing for me. Their conversation on pornography could have been longer, but was a pretty good approach compared to the shaming approaches of typical books.

I was recently asked to do some pre-marital counseling next year and I will probably end up recommending this work, if not assigning it or portions of it. There is also a version for women. I mean, excuse me, “good girls.”

This was absolutely fantastic. The best book of its kind I have read. I only have one quibble with it I will email the author about (and it's nothing to do with the stuff about men justifying themselves for behaving badly, that was all spot on). Wish someone had given this to me before I got married. No shame at all about including this on my Goodreads shelf, though I will keep this review out of my update feed!

(I'm planning on reading "The Good Girl's Guide to Great Sex" next, but I wanted to read this while my husband was reading it so we could talk about it...)

THIS BOOK IS INCREDIBLE! I have never read a marriage book so incredibly spot-on. So many parts resonated deeply with me, and oftentimes helped me verbalize things that I had felt for years, but wasn't sure how to communicate them to my husband.

Even though it is written to men, I found it very helpful to read as a wife. I HIGHLY recommend this to any couple, and can't wait to read the companion book for wives!
