After the unbearable cliff-hanger Rick Riordan left us with in the fourth installment of The Heroes of Olympus series, The Mark of Athena, I had all sorts of plots and twists in my mind, but I have to say Rick Riordan certainly managed to blow many of those away. As I was reading, I'm not sure how many times I found myself with my mouth open in surprise at the words on the page. I definitely would recommend this book and series to anyone willing to let go of reality if only for a moment to exchange it for battling gods, demi-gods, satyrs, and all sorts of fantastical things like Bob.

Okay, let me put it this way: I will probably always give any of Rick Riordan's books a five because a) I love his writing, b) I love ancient mythology, and c) I don't think I could ever not like his books. I cannot wait until next October!
