I think I'm just gonna call it quits on this one. I wasn't absolutely hating it but I didn't like the pacing. I don't want to say anything else as to not spoil but it just didn't go in the direction I was hoping for and the characters were pretty one dimensional so I don't care to continue lol
Drama and Romance
This story starts out with lots of drama with the bank robbery both Alex and Cory are caught in. They start to have feelings for each other during this experience but both write it off as trauma. There was a lot of emotion, a lot of back and forth before they eventually got their happily ever after.

This books get two stars for the bank robbery and how the H&M connected that was good, but the rest, no way, do not agree with cheating. Life and death situations I can understand where cheating can come in, if the story then made someone change their life around then maybe, but no this story doesn’t work like that, so for me this is a big no no, I don’t want to read about a heroine still being with her fiancé and having feelings for someone else. Stopped at 85% sorry but I can’t read on anymore.

I love Emma Scott. And this book did have it's shining moments. I loved the synopsis so I couldn't wait to read it. Halfway through the book though, I wasn't loving the direction it was going. The MC Alex was making choices that to me were stupid and upsetting. I actually started to not liker her at all. I really thought some AH HA moments that happened at the end of the book should have happened A LOT sooner. I loved the ending. The whole book made a very strong impression on me, I just thought the middle-ish of the book was upsetting.
3⭐️
After reading the annotation, I wanted to start reading the book as soon as possible. But, apparently, I greatly overestimated my expectations and they were not fulfilled.
I liked the beginning, the first acquaintance with the characters and the very turning point that I was waiting for so much. But then things didn't go the way I would have liked. Strange actions of heroes, their thoughts and behavior… This confused me very much.
From the cool: Cory's dedication in the bank, Alex's help for Cory in court, going to baseball as a birthday gift for Cory, beautiful baby Kelly, Alex's understanding father…
Not the best book by Emma Scott. The idea is cool, but in my head it was more interesting. I don't even know how to rate the book.

This book has had a major facelift and it was so good. I highly recommend this book.
Like every single book I’ve read from Emma Scott, this one is chock full of emotion. ##WARNIG##. There is cheating. Inexcusable cheating, because, well, there is never an excuse. There is understanding, though.
Alex is so starved for human affection, it’s no wonder things played out as they did. And the same is true for Cory. So when these two find themselves in an impossibly traumatic situation, the aftermath do I dare say, is inevitable. Alex makes some serious mistakes (yes, it takes two to tango, but Alex should have made some decisions/had some conversations prior). Both Cory and Alex should have been more open and honest, but their mistakes make them all the more human. Neither want to hurt others, both want to do what is best. But their feelings for each other get in the way until they finally have to make amends.
Alex and Cory join other Emma Scott couples in my top favs. ❤️

I was so excited to see this title getting a re-release! I discovered Emma Scott when I read the Full Tilt duet as it was released, and although I have read and loved each and every title she has released since, I had not had a chance to go back and read her prior releases. As I suspected I would, I loved Unbreakable. The hero, Cory, was everything- just an all-around fabulous dreamy guy and perfect book boyfriend material. I cannot imagine going through the terrifying situation that Cory and Alex had to endure, but I felt that the author spun a believable tale, full of passion and honesty.
