I’m caught up now to read hexed which is about Ariel. I really enjoyed this one even though I really didn’t watch or know little to nothing about the hunchback of notre dame

This is a retelling of the hunchback of Notre Dame.

I actually really liked this book. The story kept moving at a great pace. The plot was predictable but that was ok for me because I loved the true forbidden love.

Kayaknya gue masih sregan sama 3 buku awal deh, orang bilang crossed seru drpd yang lain tp kesini makin bosenin. Cuma emang yaa bagus sih.. tapi jujur hooked - scarred - wretched beneran masih ngena dj gue.

Ini okay sih, gue tuh rasanya kayak kepingin jedotin kepalanya si Cade kayak lo jahat walaupun lo priest.. lo tuh gak berhak ngomong gt ke Amaya.

Amaya & Cade

The French priest meets the town outcast.

Honestly I’ve read a books like this before, and this rendition was just ok.

The tension and the taboo side intrigued me. The first 70% was good, then there was a twist and it just kept building. I didn’t think it went with the rest of the story at all.

Not my favorite from the series, but I enjoyed the first half.

- age gap (36/?)

I should have absolutely read the trigger warnings for this book.

3.5; audibly laughed/scoffed when reading Cade's character profile stating that he is 6'7" tall like ok sure lmao

All the characters in his book aside from Amaya and Quinten are literally awful. Amaya is abused, objectified at every turn and even Dalia, who has helped her so far, was absolutely complicit when the situation forced Amaya to marry the man who raped her. And Cade! Oh, God don’t get me started with that fucker. Almost just as bad. How Amaya was abused by multiple people in this book absolutely infuriated me until I could no longer enjoy it, and even aside from that this book was decent. Interesting MMC, and that’s most of the praise I can give.
dark tense

Man, this is the fourth book in the series I’ve read, and the one I was most looking forward to reading. That being said, I struggled to finish this one because I could not connect with Amaya at all. I think I just expected her to react differently to many plot events, and I could not for the life of me get behind the epilogue. Not a bad book per se, just one I struggled to connect with.
