strange. and I found the frequent usage of footnotes annoying.

I’m honestly not really sure what happened in this one. I was intrigued at first but then was like huh and just mulling on through it. A father goes missing and the only known witness is one of his sons who has the rare Angelman Syndrome which means he cannot speak. It’s an interesting storyline that brings to light different methods of communication and also a b plot about what variables can influence happiness levels.

good grief I hate the way this author writes--she is in love with her own voice and never shuts up and goes off on long tangents that just stop the story cold. Not sure I'm gonna finish this....

The writing is amazing for making us experience the same sort of frustration as the non-verbal character and his family in the search for Adam, yet absolutely infuriating for never giving us the answers we were looking for despite making us read almost 400 pages with the hope of solving Adam's disappearance.

Thank you Net Galley and Random House Publishing!

This was my first Angie Kim novel and while I have heard rave reviews of Miracle Creek, this fell short. Having the book narrated exclusively by Mia left more to be desired. I would have liked a bit more character development. It also felt a bit overdone at times when discussing certain subjects (Autism and Angelman Syndrome). Overall, not a horrible book but certainly not my cup of tea.

It just wasn’t what I was expecting, just seemed all over the place and it left me with wondering if what was said was true. Just feel like I was expecting him to be alive still, not everything was answered for me
