If you have or were a special needs child just know this will likely make you feel all the things . You want to keep reading to figure out the mystery behind the fathers disappearance but also the author makes you feel so strongly connected to the son , Eugene , that you want to read to almost watch over him . The story addresses so many hard topics ; racism, ableism, suicide , health crisis/ pandemic & favoritism. I adored the realness from this author . The plot kept twisting every time a possible scenario was seeming to make sense. Wonderful read

being inside of mia's brain for this entire book was...not an enjoyable reading experience for me, personally!

BUT i liked the story itself, found it an incredibly unique and moving "family drama," and i loved the juxtaposition between the central questions of happiness/satisfaction in life vs. the extreme grief surrounding the parkson family.
