I'm tired of whiny heroines who do dramatic internal monolgoues every other page. I'm tired of soft, floppy magic systems that do whatever is most convenient for the story and/or to create drama.

I keep going for Elander and Zev.

There were more edge of your seat scenes in this one! I'm realizing more and more that I'm not a huge fan of really long series as so many of them could be condensed into just three books (unless they also work as standalones in the same world/setting), but I'm not ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet.
