So I like most of the things about this book. The magic system, the realistic heroine with doubt and anxiety, found family, spice with tension. 

Two things I don’t like: she always seems to be finding out major back story points about her found family, and even when people seem to be in mortal danger, they always seem to come out ok. I hate when characters die or get seriously hurt, but sometimes the actions need consequences or else I don’t believe you anymore.
