Just OK in my opinion. I see why telling stories about the immigrant experience in America is important... but as for this book, this story and these characters in particular... it was just OK.

DID NOT FINISH: 7%
I've been sitting on this way too long, but for whatever reason it never feels like the right time. I decided to dig into this over a long weekend and still could not get invested in the story, so I unfortunately think I'm not going to be able to recommend this one any time soon. There was nothing glaringly wrong with the writing or plotting, I just think I'm in a different stage of my reading life than I was when I requested this book.
