Here to Stay is an engaging romance with fun, likable characters. I like a good workplace romance, and when the couple is at odds with each other while being so obviously attracted to each other, it makes for a fun and interesting storyline. Rocco and Julia have good chemistry and they're easy to root for. The story is steamy and fun even with a bit of drama. In terms of contemporary romance, it's pretty standard, and some things are kind of cookie-cutter for the genre. That said, this one is good for escaping the reality that is our crazy world lately and whiling away an evening or weekend. It is well written and I'll be interested to see if any of the secondary characters get their own love stories.

I loved this slow burn romance book. I usually stay away from them because many times I get frustrated with the writing or the pace of the story but the author has made a great job in keeping me invested at all times and I definitely recommend it.

  • allocishet m/w, she’s afro-latine (dominican and puerto rican) and he’s white (italian and greek), he’s got trauma from familial emotional abuse; queer, latine, Black SCs
  • workplace, lust/love/emotion at first sight
  • this was tense but warm! a variety of external complicating factors but things were pretty solid between the two MCs
  • also loved LOVED the friend group! a super cast of SCs in this book

I really enjoyed this book. It was sweet, funny, a bit heartbreaking and a bit hot. I loved the representation of different characters and the big, ethnic family that feels familiar and sweet.

The two MC’s were cute together, though definitely not an enemies to lovers. I think they disliked each other for like two chapters. Their romance was sweet and hot, though you didn’t get any real spice until about 3/4 of the way through. Omg, his dirty talk was so good haha.

I also loved this (very fictional) big, luxury clothing empire that also had a charitable function and was helping migrants to live and thrive in the US. Such a great idea and I wish companies actually did that kind of thing.
