Guys, this book is really good. It's emotionally taxing but paints an incredible picture of the killers, the victims, the events leading up to and that day and the aftermath. If you're tired of pundits and Twitter trying to explain why mass shootings occur, read this, the answer is as simple as it is complicated. Nothing is more dangerous than pure anger.
I also appreciate the author not inserting himself into the story, it's one of my biggest pet peaves.

One of the harder books I’ll read. Cullen’s attention to detail, methodical and ethical approach in outlining the complex events of Columbine, and organization of facts is exceptional. That is only outdone by his relationships with the survivors and grieving parents. Only a writer with unyielding empathy, love, and care could produce a book this honest and this true to the entire spectrum of emotions that those close to school shootings must endure.
I have true respect for him and his process and am grateful for the knowledge he entrusted us all with in this book.
The epilogue is worth a read as well. He gets to the action we all want to see so books like this don’t have to be written in the future.

This was a remarkable book. It was an especially interesting read since I now live in Colorado and am familiar with the Littleton area. Since I just finished _The Boy Who was Raised as a Dog_, I thought a lot about what might have happened in Eric's brain development to lead to his psychopathy. The Harris family has been publicly silent since the murders, so I suppose that will remain a mystery.
Cullen paints a detailed portrait not only of the killing spree and the lives of the killers, but of the media madness and the ways in which the media and public feed off of and influence one another.

Completely debunks media myths of Columbine - compulsively readable and very scary.

Such a difficult book to read but definitely worth it. This book is a very detailed (and I mean VERY detailed) look at what happened during Columbine and why. It answered a lot of questions I had, since I never knew much about what went down.
It was very hard to read, as I've said - many times I found myself getting choked up and I had to put the book down for a bit. But with a title like "Columbine", it shouldn't come as a surprise that the subject matter is rough.
Either way, I definitely recommend this book for anyone interested in learning more about Columbine.

Riveting. Fascinating. Enlightening. Compelling. Horrifying.

Extremely compelling and well written. Why did the Columbine massacre happen? Could it have been prevented? There are no easy answers, but Cullen does an impressive job of sorting through the evidence and presenting the facts.
