Opens with the Watcher explaining this is a separate universe. We learn about how Deadpool was set on this bloodshed path. We then see him brutally murder the Fantastic Four, and then the Watcher himself. He is aware of the reader, breaking the fourth wall. He goes on to kill Spiderman, Iron Man, Captain America, Ant-Man, Thor, and even Hulk. The remaining living characters, led by Aunt May, seek the help of Taskmaster to take out Deadpool. Taskmaster searches for answers. He goes to the help of Dr Strange only to find him killed. However, he does find a book on traveling the multiverse. Finally, Taskmaster tracks Wade to a swamp. They fight for a while before Man-Thing kills Taskmaster. Wade then goes on to kill Thanos, Doom, and everyone in his universe. He returns to Man-Thing and travels through the multiverse. The series ends with him killing the very people writing the story, and we are left with the idea that he is coming for the reader next.

Not the best introduction to Deadpool probably...

Bought this off a super sale on Amazon because I wanted to see if the Deadpool comics were as good as the movie...

Unfortunately this collection relies a lot on having a deep comics background. I've only read a few graphic novels (Preacher, Watchmen, Scott Pilgrim, & American Alien I think are all of them) so I have a hard time identifying every Marvel character by sight. I feel like I need an annotated version of this with captions, "Here you can see Howard the Duck roasted on a platter."

From the very first few pages, after 75% of the Fantastic Four has been killed, Invisible Girl does some weird thing where she somehow blows up Deadpool's head? I'm sure a diehard Marvel fan would know that this is her forming a force field inside his skull and then rapidly expanding it, but I had to read her Wikipedia page to figure that out.

I even had to Google one of the jokes on the final page ("Snikt")!

So my ability to enjoy this book as a whole was diminished but the Merc with a Mouth still seemed fun. I'd love to know if there's a Deadpool graphic novel out there that's a more easy to "get" introduction to the character...

Just as ridiculous and brutal and fun as I hoped it would be. Literally nobody is spared, and some of the fights are pretty epic. My only nitpick is that it was too short! I would have loved some of the fights to have lasted longer and more one-on-one battles with other major characters. Which is ironic because I LOVE the Avengers! It's definitely not for the faint of heart, but some of the deaths were hilarious, especially Howard the Duck. But my favourite moment was the ending. It was absolutely perfect, laugh-out-loud Deadpool. A lot of fun for all Deadpool and multiverse fans.

Deadpool that's all there is to say about this great book Oh but there's a lot more to talk about. This book shows a very dark Deadpool as the title says. I think this book had a good dark story and tons and tons of action. Deadpool is always a good fun character to watch or read but this book takes him to another level bad for the heros but good for him and the readers. And also you have the whole Marvel universe in this book so there's also tons and tons of characters. Deadpool has some interesting and creative ways that he kills the Marvel universe. The book is worth a read if you like Deadpool or just the Marvel Universe. I'm trying not to spoil the book but it's great and you should read it.

I enjoy Deadpool and his shtick, but he's not my. I picked this book because of the length and its lack of necessary continuity. Most of the deaths here are entertaining in a "Final Destination" way.

I wouldn't necessarily recommend this to non-Deadpool fans or first timers.

Read via Marvel Unlimited.
