This is such a unique and beautiful love story. Staring in a small town of Kentucky, seniors in high school, falling in love, fighting it, and in competition for the one scholarship that could take them out of poverty and change their lives. Both willing to do what it takes for the other, pushing their dreams aside.

Flash forward 4 years to where their lives are now. Who are they? What have they accomplished? What does it al mean?

Flash forward 6 years to their finale.

This was such a beautifully written story and I highly recommend you add this to your reading list 🫶

Overall a good story about us poor Appalachian folk BUT I found myself increasingly annoyed about the inaccuracy of how and when lavender grows, if you are going to base so much of a book around a plant make sure you understand when it grows and how difficult it would be to grow in the hills. I know this is silly but it was so unrealistic it bothered me.
