One thing that is always a guarantee is that if Mia Sheridan writes it, it is going to tear your heart to pieces and put it back together again so many times before the end of the story!
I really enjoyed this book, it was filled with so much feeling and angst from two characters who just wanted better lives for themselves.
I love books where it makes you feel the things the characters are feeling, whether that is grief, hate, love, heartbreak and so many more. I felt absolutely everything in this book and it made me cry multiple times!
For a short book this really packs a punch and I can’t wait to see what Mia Sheridan writes next.

Sheridan delivers a powerhouse of emotion setting the stage as our two leads, Tenleigh and Kyland, compete for a scholarship that would allow them to leave the small poverty-stricken mining town they call home. Once they take notice of each other, they find themselves bound together despite all the reasons they have to stay apart. While the plot after the time jump left me wanting a bit more, the ending was a very satisfying conclusion for these characters.
