where do i begin? i honestly wasn’t sure if i was going to like this book after the first two chapters, but now i think it’s top three of my 2022 books. i couldn’t put it down until i finished it.

i’m pretty sure i cried for the last half of the book, from “i had purposely bombed my finals” to “i do go to hell. every day. for you.”

the mine and what kyland went through. the way he had to grow up at such a young age, i could feel my heart breaking for him. tenleigh was so understanding and gave him so much love. their nights over christmas break where they shared each other’s secrets, it was so comforting to read. i fell in love with this beautiful story. i’d give it more stars if that were an option.

A super sweet love story!

I live in Lexington so I know many people from Appalachia. I have Kin-in-law there. This book was fantastic. It conveys the beauty and pride of the region while also portraying the poverty and dire desperation. A beautiful love story.

Had to stop reading this one and skip to the end to get worst suspicions confirmed. One character takes all the losses for “love.” Bye.
