This was so meta it was almost ridiculous, but I liked it. 3.5 stars.

Not what I was expecting but a good time. Should have figured it out the plot by the title.

Lots of horror tropes, nothing fresh or new added to the genre. Meh.

I definitely recommend reading, or at least starting, this book in print because it’s a book within a screenplay within a book, and it can get very confusing. It makes a lot of sense at the end, but it can be quite convoluted and there were times in which I was like “ugh, come on,” but I quite like Catherine Ryan Howard’s writing, though process, and commitment to write a thoughtful thriller with some bulk to it.

This book had a really promising premise. However, in my opinion, it did not live up to it's potential.

The first 75% or so of the book was good. It kept me on edge and up well past midnight so I could finish it. That said, the last bit was...a little convoluted. There were so many different twists thrown in I got dizzy. I could barely finish reading about one twist before the next one was in. As well, the one twist with the friend was not only obvious, but the motive felt super flimsy.

I did like the book and would probably recommend it if you're looking for a quick, edge-of-your-seat read.

Really enjoyed a previous book by this author so wanted to give this a try and whilst it's good it's not great IMO.

I figured out the twists fairly early on but it's a decent read.

I found i wasn't interested in the characters as they were annoying. I wanted something that gripped me more or surprised me more.

Still up for reading more of this author though.
