Not a super fan of the anthologies but this was entertaining nonetheless. No full review.

Ehhh. I was not super impressed by this collection.
M. Carey was a standout but that is about it. All the stories were too similar to each other. Listen, zombies tend to have common tropes - but this all kind felt the same.

Also, after the 5th story that involved a woman being naked just for naked-ess sake I just didn't care to take the rest of the stories super seriously.

I started listening to this book at about 10am. I sat working and next thing I know it is 2:30. I've read very little zombie fiction so I'm not sure how original this are compared to the rest of the genre but this anthology was a ridiculous amount of fun for me. I typically rate an anthology based on the best stories. If it leads me to discover a couple of different authors then I consider it a success. This collection, however, opened me up to a new subgenre I'd overlooked. Williamson's Folly by David J. Shaw was also just a beautiful piece of writing. If nothing else I strongly recommend checking that story out.

A few really solid stories, and some cool premises, but the range of writing quality here was… wide.

There were several stories with some interesting things to say about the genre, and new at least to me, but there were also several stories which took the opportunity to use the genre as some kind of revenge fantasy on terrible people, one of which spent so much time slinging slurs and diatribes that I don't really know why I bothered reading that story. It wasn't worth the payoff.

I found this collection mostly just okay. The standout for me was the zoo story by Mira Grant. I feel like the zookeeper was very autistic coded and I loved that.

None of these really wowed me, maybe one or two did, but the majority were meh.

Great narration and some really fun zombie short stories! A solid collection and great for any zombie fans.

If I never read the line "bit into her throat" in the next ten years, it'll still be too soon.
