****SPOILER ALERT****

The entire first half of the book from Amber’s PIV was so cringy to me as a married woman, which I think is good writing because it elicited a strong response from me.

I did figure out the early on and that helped me with my cringy feelings. Good storyline, just wish Jackson suffered more, he was a real butthead.

The premise was interesting and I definitely wanted to finish and find out what happened but I had a few issues with this book. First, the entire first part from Ambers perspective was really forced and I couldn’t decide if it was bad writing or the point of the story. I was constantly cringing and had a hard time believing Daphne was okay will all the things Amber did and said. Of course once you read the second part you realize that Daphne was on to Amber the whole time but for the first part it was forced and awkward. As for the second part, it became pretty obvious where the story was going. This book also needed a trigger warning. If I had known how much domestic violence, sexual abuse, and violence would be in this book I would have never read it.

All in all it was an interesting premise and fairly well written but the violence and awkward nature of the first part left the book lacking.
