i finished this book so fast. it took me a while to connect with the characters but once i did i never wanted to put it down.

i loved how this book explored grief and how much it can affect a person. i was also so invested in it and it was interesting to watch the story unfold and all come together. however, i thought it was kind of cringe at times just some moments. i feel like overall, tate should’ve stuck up for herself more tbh. and maybe i just have extreme jealousy issues but i would never forgive a man for saying another girl’s name

DID NOT FINISH

"This is so bad I want to give you a zero but that’s not possible so I give you a one.” -Tyra Banks

I only picked this up for market research and I can’t even finish it. I made it half way through and even listening at 3x speed couldn’t make it bearable. It’s “literature” like this that makes me no longer question why relationships are so wildly f’d up these days.

The story of Tate and Miles (at least the 53% of it that I laboriously consumed) is not even cute. Tate acts like a lovesick 13yr old (I could not imagine being her friend which must be exactly how Colleen Hoover felt bc Tate has not a single one to speak of in the book) with zero self respect and Miles has no personality at all, but suddenly can barely stand the thought of not hooking up with Tate every minute he sees her, after being celibate for 6 years. It’s just…not even imaginative or attractive in any way.

What a shallow, unrealistic and impressively uncreative portrayal of romantic matters. I can’t understand why works like this get so popular…

*Audio Book Side note: Whoever heard Deacon Lee speak and thought, “This is the guy. This is our sexy, sensual, and irresistible male lead!”, needs to reconsider their profession.

CoHo could’ve went with so much to make their relationship ‘ugly’ and she chose an incest story???!!!

Okay CoHo does kinda romanizing Toxicity ..but I loved the book nonetheless!

I wish I could give this a 4.8/5 stars. In the beginning I wanted more than just sex stores between Tate and Miles, and more of the history between Miles and Rachel. I kept wanting to know why Miles wasn’t falling for Tate. I wanted to know all of it to start. But I’m glad I found out the horrible reason why Miles didn’t want to feel love when I did. I was sobbing after the chapter of Miles and Rachel when they lost their baby boy the way they did.
I was sobbing when after 6 years Miles went and talked to Rachel and Rachel was able to help him see that the ugliness will always be there but that you have to find the good parts in life and learn to love. Then I was sobbing when he proposed to Tate and then again when they had their little girl. This book will be one I won’t forget about for a while.
