James and Ozzy were so much more than I expected. They both had struggles to overcome, for very different reasons. But they worked well for each other and balanced each other out. And Ozzy was down from day 1. James took a little longer (for good reason). And as much as they tried to keep things friends with benefits... yeah. That never actually works out in these sorts of books.

I appreciated how James' past experience was treated on page, how we could see her progress to handle it and take back control of herself with Ozzy's help. Seeing them both navigate their own feelings and their family obstacles gave a lot of insight into how they approached their own budding relationship. Also, as always, Naomi Loud writes excellent spice. Because while not only being "spice," it also shows character development and relationship dynamics well.

5/5🌶️, MF, CR, NA, rich girl-bad boy, server and line cook, some kink (somno and degradation), KU TW for SA

As a fan of the shows Shameless and The Bear, this book was like a perfect amalgamation of both if Jeremy Allen White’s character from the Bear was inserted into Shameless. I enjoyed the good, rich girl and poor bad boy aspects of this book, as well as the food references and the time working in a restaurant. I appreciated that there wasn’t a third act breakup, and even though there was a bit of repressing of feelings and not talking through things, when it came down to it, the couple did choose communication and not walking away or sabotaging the relationship. There were a couple of plot lines I wish were developed more or dropped as I don’t think they added much to the story, but they didn’t distract from the overall vibes. The sex scenes were also surprising, in a great way. There was a bit of everything - including a female lead scene I did not expect. I really like when authors flip the sexual script and have the FMC ask the MMC to “strip”, “get on your knees”, and generally take charge. All in all, I had a pretty good time reading this book (even if that female lead scene probably accounted for at least a quarter star!).

This book has been rubbing me the wrong way since the snickers bar bit. I gave it a fair shot past that but I don't want to keep going.

My friend Brianna has been bugging me to read this book for close to a year. I finally got around to it and OMG. Now I see why. 100%. First and foremost, where are the Ozzy's in the world. His character is hot, hot, hot.

Pink haired rich girl James is tired of living under her parents rule. They have money - lots of money - and think they can use it to control her. Finally having enough, being cut off because of changing her major, James decides to leave that life of control behind.

James gets a job as a server at a restaurant and also a room in an apartment. It's a far cry from what she is accustomed to, but she's determined to make it.

James meets Ozzy, the line cook at the restaurant and he's no stranger to trouble and conditional love. The two have a magnetic connection and can't seem to deny it.

This book is about growing and healing and finding your way. It's hot and sweet and endearing. I loved it
