❣A special thank you to @good.girls.pr for early access to this fun & amazing book!
❝ And for those who once believed they were unloveable, I wish you all to be loved by someone like Ozzy McKenna.. ❞
❥ A few words to describe this book — funny, provocative, bold, and sexy.
Have you ever read a book that exceeded your expectations? “On the Line” by Naomi Loud just fit that bill for me!
Some parts were hilarious, some were pleasantly surprising, others were swoon-worthy, bold but good, and some were even sad.
I could relate to James’ situation with Zachary, as well as Ozzy’s broken family dynamic. Reading about these situations made this book that much more compelling for me.
I don’t want to regurgitate the synopsis, or give away too much of the book, but I will point out that this isn’t a fluffy read. There are some difficult topics, but they’re handled delicately.
The book is also portrayed in such a way that makes it feel like real life. I love when I become engrossed in a book and become part of their world.

There were parts of this I really liked, but an equal amount that I didn’t like. I loved James and Ozzy’s relationship progression and watching James become independent. Ozzy’s relationship with his siblings was so sweet. I wish we’d seen James and his siblings interact more sooner and that there would have been a resolution with James and her parents. I wasn’t expecting the drugs/alcohol in here to the extent it was and some of the “activities” were not it for me.

This book was a great time. It is a fun romance with plenty of dark themes. James is a rich socialite college student whose family rejects her love of being an artist because it is not lucrative and she leaves the glamorous life to pursue her dreams. She has to get a job to survive and pay for school, so she finds a serving job at Orso, where she meets Ozzy. Ozzy is a hard-working career chef who is passionate about cooking and creating. His family has plenty of dark secrets and a bad reputation and he deals with this throughout the story. Ozzy and James become entangled in steamy moments as they work through trauma, discover who they are, and avoid their feelings while doing so.
Both the MMC & FMC were likeable and added to the story. I actually really loved how the author processed some of the traumatic experiences that both of the main characters endured. The writing was good and though more of a character-driven story about the healing journey of the characters, this book is incredibly
spicy! I usually skip spice when I feel it’s over used, but the author blended the spice with character growth, which kind of blew me out of the water. Would read more from the author again.
Recommend this especially for my current or ex-restaurant staff! I was triggered by all of the throwback terms and experiences (especially serving nightmares - they’re real ya’ll)
