This one was a lot of fun I can’t wait for more.
Kami Garcia does it again in intertwining concepts from the original Teen Titans in her book, Teen Titans: Beast Boy. The approach she took with Beast Boy in this story was interesting such as making him have this desire to be a part of "The Chosen Ones" and be seen as a mature, grown kid since people view him as a little boy compared to others ever since elementary. Seeing the illustrations of Beast Boy's transformations along with his indirect communication with animals was cool and it provides a great visualization for the reader. One of the most important takeaways in this book is having self-love as other people won't accept you if you don't accept yourself - animal or not. With the way the story ended, I am curious to see how Beast Boy's interaction with Raven will go in the next book.

While the art style and story was interesting, my main issue with the story comes from the main character.
Gar Logan AKA Beast Boy is vain and popularity obsessed. His true self shines when he's with his friends, but he has a habit of not wanting to stay with his friends.
His relationship with his parents is also very surface level when it is the driving force behind him acting in certain ways.
I hope he truly grows as a character in the next installment.

Realistically I would probably give this book a 4.5 because I did love it just a little less than 'Raven,' however I did still enjoy this book. I mainly really enjoyed Gar and his friend group, but I also loved the breakdown of Gar's transformations and powers on the scientific level. I thought those pages were so neat.
I liked this book a little less because I really hate when it's a typically unpopular person who tries to fit in with cool kids, and that results in him shunning his friends. It's been done before, and I could count on my one pinky finger the amount of times I've actually enjoyed it.
Nevertheless, the art is beautiful as always and I love this series so far. The story is interesting, and I'm excited to see where we go from here now that Raven and Beast Boy's backstory's have been completed.

The raven one was better but i was surprised i finished this in one sitting. I LOVE Gar and most of the story was interesting it just got boring.
This was really good! I honestly forgot it has been released but I’m so happy I remembered to pick up up! Excited for best boy and raven in 2021
A giant leap in writing, and the consistently excellent artwork of [a:Gabriel Picolo|15746836|Gabriel Picolo|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1528739428p2/15746836.jpg] make this one of my favorite DC YA books that I've read so far. After the disappointment of Garcia's [b:Teen Titans: Raven|38452813|Teen Titans Raven (Teen Titans, #1)|Kami Garcia|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1528738829l/38452813._SY75_.jpg|60077986], I was dreading returning to the series. But Garcia really upped her game for this one. It gets a bit clunky near the end when a fight scene takes place and then suddenly the book is over.
But, overall, I enjoyed the plot, and thought Garcia's sense of teenage dialogue was much more realistic here. I don't know if it's that Garcia writes better when dealing with science, as opposed to magic, or whether it's that she's grown more trusting of the art to tell the story, rather than having inner-monologues and dialogues serve as plot development but this was a much better read.
