Totally agree with other reviews that this book has a very interesting premise but the pacing is just so slow. I almost lost interest in the story half way through the story.

3.5⭐️ rounded up.

My first thriller in what feels like forever that I really got into and enjoyed!

Ok so the first part was a little slow. I think I got to about 40% and remember thinking ‘how have I read this much and nothing has happened’ but I’m glad I continued cause it got juicy!! Chloe as a main character was okay, made some slightly annoying decisions but I liked her overall. I thought I’d sussed out the killer cause I thought the obvious choice where the author was leading you was a little TOO obvious, but I had a jaw drop when it was revealed!! I was not expecting that. Top tier suspense.

Highly recommend the audiobook if you’re thinking of picking this one up!

disappointed about cooper but not surprised. Kind of dragged for the first half. I didn’t see Tyler coming, though, and I was pretty anxious in the end.

I’m honestly shocked this is Stacy Willingham’s debut novel, it was so beautifully written. It’s eerie throughout the entire story and really keeps you on your toes. It’s another one that keeps you wondering and guessing until the last pages, and when you think you know how it will end… Well, I’m telling you now, you’ll be wrong.

I couldn’t recommend this murder mystery thriller more, and I’m so excited to read whatever the author has in store next!

I think that overall this is a good book. It’s a very easy read and the chapters have pretty good cliffhangers that make you want to keep going. It’s 3 stars for me, though, because I am not sure I really enjoyed the writing style of this author as a whole. I wasn’t a huge fan of the way that the main character went into memory in the middle of an otherwise fast paced and/or interesting moment. It really slowed down the momentum of the story and made those moments stagnate a bit. I also found the mystery of it predictable from pretty early on, so the reveals towards the end don’t really hit as hard as they could. I didn’t really connect to the main character either and found some of her leaps of logic very strange. That being said, I don’t think we are necessarily meant to think she is being at all logical, but still, there was just something very frustrating about her that never really gets resolved. There’s more I could say, but I don’t want to go into spoilers. Overall, I liked it enough, but I probably wouldn’t rush to read this author again.
