OMG this book was absolute perfection. The characters, the plot, the spice, all of it 10000/10. Clarissa Wild is a genius when it comes to the perfect level of spice✨

While this dark romance initially drew me in with its captivating spice and intensity, it ultimately disappointed due to unresolved plot, inconsistent characterization, and a lack of narrative cohesion. The book starts off strong, immediately hooking the reader with its steamy scenes in the first 100-200 pages. However, by the middle of this 505-page book, the constant violence feels repetitive and unmotivated, as the author fails to provide sufficient backstory or justification for the characters' thirst for revenge.

The numerous action scenes evoke knock-off versions of Boondock Saints and John Wick, with continuous gunfights that seem to serve no purpose beyond keeping the protagonists in debt. Certain key characters like Milo, who ranks as a favorite, get abruptly sidelined as the love triangle between Lana, Nathan, and Kai takes over. The resolution leaves core conflicts unaddressed, with the characters inexplicably accepting traumatic events like leaked photographs with no consequences, let alone WHERE is Crystal?

While the initial spice and intensity were engaging, the lack of plot and character development ultimately made this a disappointing read that failed to deliver on its early promise.
