This was marginally wayyyy less appealing compared to the other ones...

I would have taken way better planning and execution instead of the motel room romance description...This heist was shoddy work...and everyone’s movement at some point made my head hurt...

I hope the next book is better

I absolutely love this series and this one didn’t disappoint. I liked that Davis and Ridge continues their “relationship” after they were home from the last job. I think they complement each other well. This book didn’t have as much build up to the actual job as the others and everything that could go wrong did even if they got it all figured out in the end.

I can’t wait to see how the last two jobs go with how everything ended and hopefully Davis will be able to join Ridge soon.

I received a copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

I enjoyed the other books a great deal but this one was a disappointment. I didn't mind jumping back and forth in time from one chapter to the next, but there were some important details in the plot that were inexplicably missing. I have no idea how a major part of Leo's rescue happened because it was just never shown.

Same thing happened with the big climax. We get the general idea of what happened during the showdown with the baddie, but then BAM! The scene ends and the next thing we see is everyone out of danger and there's an odd visit from a friend that wraps everything up...I guess? Then cue the epilogue that felt more like a plug for the Christmas book than a wrap up.

So yeah. There was a lotta bad BUT I still loved Charlie and Leo. They were sweet and smokin' hot. That said, I'll still be reading the Christmas story coming out in November and hoping for a return to the kind of clever plots and engaging writing that hooked me on this series to begin with.

I was really excited for this one because of the blurb, plus I really liked Ridge's character and it seemed like a "love at first sight" situation for him and Davis. And it was! That was my favourite part of the book.

The rest of the book just left me fully confused. In the first three books, these boys were solving crimes and not letting a bad guy get away with doing bad things and I was all for it. But with this one, it wasn't like that? I get the whole "righting a wrong" aspect but it just didn't fit in with the rest of the other books, there was no crime fighting, no suspense, not bad guy chase or anything, so I was a bit disappointed.

Onto the next!

My favourite couple of the series

Loved this end to the first chapter of this series. Charlie and Leo are just perfect together, watching their relationship unfold against a backdrop of kidnapping and intrigue was most excellent.

I'll keep trying this one, but Wasp does seem to like the age gap trope, and I'm really not into that at the moment.
Did finish it, because I'm such an external plot reader. I'd like to know how this setup turns out. But. I'm not wild about the romantic pairings - age gap is never good for me, and it's been three in a row. At least the younger person was more competent and less swoony.
I was confused about who was related to the old villain in this book. Is it one woman or her mother-in-law? Both seemed to have long histories with the relevant mansion.

I’m basically a broken record when I come to reviews for this series. I end up feeling the same way every time.

I do very much enjoy this series, and overall this third installment was enjoyable, and I did like Ridge and Davis together.

My main reason for taking off a 1.25 stars is because I felt like this moved really fast between Ridge and Davis. There was a hint of something going on between them in book 2, but we didn't get to see it, really, and in this things start happening and then we learn through somewhat of a flashback that they slept together, and they have been sleeping together for however long.

We get Ridge going to see Davis with one hot sex scene and then the main events happen in about one night and then these two are already confessing love for each other, but then at the very end we do get the promise of a HFN but we don't
Spoilereven get to see these two together. Davis gets shot so he has to stay behind while Ridge and the others have to leave because of reasons you'll have to read to find out.
and then the story was over and it felt very abrupt.

Their relationship just progressed way too fast and we didn't get to see enough of them being together and all these moments leading up to love.

The plot was still enjoyable, and I still enjoyed these two and liked them together. But it was just too fast and then not enough of them at the end for my tastes. I think the ending, at least, could have been better.

Now we're getting Carson's book next, which I'm excited for, yes, but also we won't get any more with Ridge and Davis, and that made me ultimately give less than 4 stars with this, because there wasn't enough of these two in the first place, and what there was of them went way too fast.

Overall, pretty good third installment, but could have been better, with more care taken with the writing of this relationship.

I still recommend this, it was still a fun read overall, but the fastness just didn't work the best for me.

I do enjoy a good opposites-attract love story, though the split past/present plot structure annoyed me. But, considering the history, it couldn't be helped, and the past parts are just enough to inform the present characters.

I wish the manuscript had gotten another copy-edit pass. There are perhaps a hundred mistakes, missed words, extraneous words, wrong words, throughout.

Ultimately, though, I quite enjoyed this installment. There is enough detail (without much repetition) that you could read this first, then start at #1, understanding Agent Shook a LOT better. Hm. Tempting... :)
