I wanted to read this book because I was on a mission to discover new authors last year. I have seen this book around for years and one of my best friends kept pushing me and pushing me to read this series. So, I bought the series and I understand why she would recommend this book, this series has been a complete whirlwind. Please check trigger warnings before reading this book and some triggers are briefly mentioned below. I was wondering how Holly was going to end this series, and it wasn’t anything I was expecting it to be.

This book is based on a young woman named Pippa Fitz-Amobi who is known as Pip. Pip is about to head off for university, but she is still haunted by the way her last investigation ended. She's used to online death threats in the wake of her viral true-crime podcast, but she can’t help noticing an anonymous person who keeps asking her: Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears? Soon the threats escalate, and Pip realizes that someone is following her in real life. When she starts to find connections between her stalker and a local serial killer caught six years ago, she wonders if maybe the wrong man is behind bars. Police refuse to act, so Pip has only choice: find the suspect herself – or be the next victim. As the deadly game plays out, Pip discovers that everything in her small town is coming full circle and if she doesn’t find the answers, this time she will be the one who disappears.

This book is a completely different vibe to the other books, I know that her other books in this series is dark but it’s about cold cases or people she cares about – there has never been a case surrounding her. Holly Jackson has a way of making a slow build-up be worth it. The first 25% of this book, you don’t even realise she has a stalker until the messages start appearing outside her house. I went into this book blind, so I thought it was going to be Pip solving a cold case and the after math of the Max Hastings case. And it was completely different that when the action finally happened, I was screaming and throwing this book around. The plot twists were insane! I liked the way it was linked together from the first murder and why the murders happened, and it was all tied in a neat little bow.

There were a few things I didn’t like and usually I don’t rate a book five stars if I didn’t like something, but I could see why it happened and why it was done that I'm giving this book five stars still. The first one the kidnapping chapters and the murders - I felt like they were a bit rushed and was questioning why we still had 200 pages left (by the end of book, I realise why). The cliffhanger was mean, I wanted to know what happened to Max and Ravi and Pip. There was no epilogue, no five years later – it was mean, I know what it was implying with that last page, but I wanted something concrete.

This series was really enjoyable, and this book was a lot darker than the other two, but I think that’s why I loved it so much. Hopefully this isn’t the end of Pip, and we see her again in the future.

What a fantastic end to Pip's story!
Still struggeling with what happened since she started looking into Andie Bell's murder for a school project, Pip begins to doubt her sanity when strange occurances seem to happen more frequently; an anonymous person always asking the same question: "Who will look for you, when you're the one to disappear?"... When she is sure her mind is not just playing tricks an her, she goes to the police to report the instances. However, police let her down once more, so she decides to look into it on her own. When she then finds a connection to a local serial killer and everything that's happened in Little Kilton comes full circle, Pip must keep calm, use her knowledge and wits to make it out alive.

Also, Pip and Ravi are just too cute - cannot wait for the adaoption.

1. Again with Holly putting drugs into her books- I COULDN'T PHYSICALLY PUT THIS BOOK DOWN.
2. Give Pip a break, please and thank you.
3. This book physically hurt every part of my body and I literally was so sad in the end that I couldn't even feel emotions anymore-
4. I loved it...Holly can't write a bad book.

Who will look for you when you’re the one who disappears?

The review contains spoilers!!!

I recently finished the book and my jaw is still on the ground and I am trying to pick up the pieces of my heart with more or less success.
First of all, before we get into anything serious, I would like to note that this was an incredible journey for my soul, which it needed for centuries and past lives. I mean really, just like the poppy war opened my eyes and took me to a terrible world where you either become a monster yourself or you don't survive alone.
I mean, Pip might have taken the title A Good Girl's Guide to Murder a little too seriously this time.

PIP

Pip Amobi-Fitz you will always be famous to me, with every flaw and broken soul. Now that we've got that out of the way, let me start by saying that I don't blame her, not at all, not for one minute, and never will, because she did what she had to do to save herself from the darkness that awaited her. How could she be blamed? How could she be condemned for making the world a better place?
Obviously taking the life of a living being is a terrible thing, but for Barney I don't see it as such.
An eye for an eye, a soul for a soul. She just settled the bill he owed for months. Plus, I think she brought justice to Andie, brought justice to Becca and the other dead girls, brought her wildest nightmares to life to give them dreams in a broken world. Some would say that she is guilty and that she is weak, but in fact Pip is incredibly strong, right from the beginning - when her life was not in danger - and she remained strong until the end. She went through way től much during this book that would make others break and she still held on to the light (the PTSD parts were real). Pip is my cornerstone, my teammate, and now that everything has come to an end, I think it's time to let her go.

RAVI

Oh my life, my love. Ravi deserves so much, so much more than what fate has given him. Even so, he is a real supporter, a loyal friend and a dream from which I never want to wake up. Now, honestly, what boyfriend would help hide a corpse with you? Save you again and again? Well, I have an estimated number and it's close to zero.
Ravi was perfect from the first minute to the last, he made me believe that you can always find the light, that you can fix what was broken no matter what. In short, if your partner won't help you hide a body, girl, run, because you only deserve a Ravi.

THE OTHERS

I can't cover everyone, but Naomi, Cara, Nat, Jamie and the others have become the top of my heart. They are true friends, even a big family, who are bound together by common trauma and past across time and space. They all got the closure they needed, which I'm more than happy about because they damn well deserved it.

Jason & Max got what they deserved and that's why my heart is truly soar with happiness.

THE PLOT/ETC.

I loved every minute and every line, although the whole murder and the planning (or hiding it) was a bit far for me, but I'm not complaining because the pace wasn't that bad.
Okay, but the ending broke my heart, in a way that I never thought it could break into so many pieces. Ravi is my everything, my sun, my moon, my heart, my faithful star, who never left Pip, not even at the lowest point, not at the very end when everything became so dark, he brought the light back into her life (after a year and a half ) but still, it means so much for me.

RECOMMENDATION

I recommend that everyone read this series at least once in their lifetime, because it's worth the hype, it really does, it takes you to a place similar to ours and grip you until the very end!
