Claiming Felicity by Susan Stoker

Soo I’m not sure what happened to Felicity’s character in this book. So far we’ve only seen her as this super tough, confident, takes-no-crap lady. But all of a sudden she’s this insecure, incompetent, shy little mouse? It’s inconsistent. I didn’t like seeing her that way.

Ryder’s insta-connection to Felicity was also too much for me. I also didn’t really like that he was a half brother that no one knew about. Why couldn’t he have just been a friend or some new guy in town?

The villain was interesting in this book. Having a stalking for years would really take a tole on someone’s mental health. I like that we know a little more about the villain and his whereabouts than the characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this mix of romantic suspense, drama and steam, all mixed into one well written and engaging story. Felicity(/Megan) and Ryder are both nicely rounded, likeable and best of all believable characters.

I wasn't too keen on Ryder's 'insta-love' declaration, but this was balanced nicely by the author allowing the relationship between Ryder and Felicity to develop naturally. This is a little slow-burn, which really suited the story line, though the pair had intense chemistry from the outset. Their pairing was sexily sweet and Ryder's loving intensity was enough to make you melt. I adored that Felicity wasn't like the 'stupid girls' in horror films, mindlessly running into danger. No, that girl had survived 10 years on the run from a psychopath and wasn't about to deliberately put herself in the path of danger.

The plot loops and turns with some very surprising twists thrown in for good measure. The last chapter and epilogue nicely rounded off the Ace line of books but also opened the door for several other stories to emerge from this. I also loved that little nod to Roman “Chief” Proudfit (from Shelter for Sophie) and wondered if there's a story for Maria in the ether.

This was not my first Susan Stoker novel, however, this was my first Ace Security novel. Normally I have not had trouble jumping in mid-series when I've read her books since most Stoker novels can be read as standalones. I love that fact that I can decide to read the books in order or jump around if I really fall in love with a secondary character she brings to the forefront. That being said, I found I had a little trouble "catching up" to the backstory that followed Ryder Sinclair into this novel since I had not read the previous Ace Security books. Luckily Susan Stoker is a great writer and doesn't leave us, the reader, hanging from all mystery and wonder what everyone is talking about forever. If you are like me and want to jump into the book/series like I did with book 4, you will eventually find out what baggage Ryder has brought with him and how it affects those closest to him, just know it might take a few chapters and that it doesn't take away from the overall plot of what is happening between Ryder and Felicity.

So, now that I've hopefully explained my 4 star rating, I do want to tell you what I did love about the book. Ryder is the perfect combination of Alpha and sweet male. Protective, yet sensitive. Probably the ultimate male fantasy, but that is why he's perfect, right. Then there was Felicity another combination of tough, part-owner of a gym and then sweet, everyone wants to be her best friend female. The perfect couple you want to hate in real life, but couldn't because they are awesome. Together they have great chemistry and that makes a book very hard to put down.

Felicity "Megan" Jones has been on the run for years. She has become adept at hiding the real her so much that she wonders who that is anymore, but when Ryder Sinclair steps into her world he makes her feel more like herself, her true self, then she has in a very long time. And that is dangerous. Not because she doesn't want to let Ryder in, but because of what he could expose. She can't take that chance on letting someone else close get hurt because of her. Not again.

Ryder "Ace" Sinclair wants to settle down, especially now that he's found his three half brothers. He'd walk away from the hard life he used to live for his family, but even more so he'd do it for Felicity Jones. From the moment he met her he knew she was the woman for him. He also knew she was in trouble. His background as a mercenary rescuing women and children from the dredges of society showed him all the signs of a woman in trouble. He wasn't about to let anything happen to her, not while he was alive to protect her.

Together they can bring Felicity peace and make sure she never has to run again. Together they can find a future surrounded by family and friends if danger take everything they hope and dream for from them first.

Wow, that ending though.

Okay I loved this series and getting to know all of the characters. Well, everyone but grace's parents because they sucked major ass. Also, her mom totally got what she deserved form my girl named karma.

Other than that, I loved Ryder and Felicia being together. They were adorable and I probably would've been super pissed at this book if things didn't go a certain away. Like for instance, this crazy creeper stalker from her past. Yeah, he needed to go. Didn't expect that way he was going to go though but enjoyed it nonetheless. Then this book threw all kinds of twists and turns at me. I didn't like all of them but they kept this book a freaking page turner!

I couldn't put it down and just wanted to know what the hell was going to happen. In the end, everyone got what they deserved. I'm happy all of the brothers are living their happily ever after. I'm glad everything is still together. AND now I want some baby magic happening. Right now people! Chop chop!

I loved this series and I will definitely try to find another book by this author.

Great ending to a wonderful series and introduction to a new series. I love that Susan has strong female characters who, although they have doubts about themselves, are not whinny. She weaves a great story.

Stalkers have a special place in hell I’m sure. Felicity Jones has had an insane stalker chasing her for the past ten years forcing her to give up her friends, her name and her home. She knows she has stayed in Castle Rock too long but she has friends and a life here. But now he’s found her again and Ryder Sinclair won’t let her run.
A former mercenary, Ryder has demons of his own but from the first moment he laid eyes on Felicity he knew why he has done what he has done. He needs to protect her he wants to keep her.
This story will put you through an emotional wringer but it turns out all right at the end.
Claiming Felicity is the end of the Ace Security quartet but introduces us to the next group of hot heroes she will sharing with us the Mountain Mercenaries.

Best one yet.

So this has been my favorite book of the series so far. I’m really sad that we are out of brothers, though.

This was so great. I really was looking forward to Felicity's story and I wasn't disappointed!

I liked their romance. It was a little quick, it felt quicker than the previous ones but I did enjoy the link to the Mountain Merceneries which I have already read.

Loving this series.
