I swear everytime I read a book of Lily's I'm just in awe of her talents as a writer.
Let me just say this much this book will take you on a rollercoaster ride with enough twists and turns you won't know what to believe.
Raynie is 17 when she meets 15 yr old Rowan and they become best friend's and on that same day she meets his brother's as well and soon thing's become complicated with Rowan who think's she can do no wrong, but as the story goes look's can be deceiving. There are events that are set into motion that neither are aware of on that first day.
This was one messing with the mind, twisted kind of read that will have you flipping pages to see was going to happen next like it did me. This lady has to be the Queen of twists and turns.
I absolutely would recommend one clicking this lil jewel and let it sweep you away into the crazy mind's of Raynie and Rowan Forever.
This is just my opinion and my review
Graphic: Addiction, Adult/minor relationship, Alcoholism, Body shaming, Bullying, Child abuse, Confinement, Death, Domestic abuse, Drug abuse, Drug use, Emotional abuse, Gore, Gun violence, Infidelity, Mental illness, Misogyny, Physical abuse, Rape, Self harm, Sexism, Sexual assault, Sexual content, Sexual violence, Torture, Toxic relationship, Violence, Grief, Stalking, Car accident, Death of parent, Murder, Gaslighting, Toxic friendship, Abandonment, Alcohol, Sexual harassment, Injury/Injury detail
That .5 is because it is really well written and the first 2/3 is interesting.
I've heard to go into this book blind, which I did. However, I honestly don't think it would matter. I guessed the "killer" the moment he was introduced. No foreshadowing, and to my mind, absolutely no question about who it is.
Only 3 stars because Justin was NOT a believable character. So, is he a victim advocate or a psychologist? A criminal psychologist? Really? He introduces himself as a victim advocate to the FMC. Why not as a psychologist? So he lied. How immediately unprofessional.
Spoiler
I knew from that moment he would end up doing what he did. Gross. His betrayal of his profession gave me the only real ick of the book. Also, that DNA check was so completely ridiculous and unbelievable that guessing the killer at that point should be a no brainer. A toothbrush?!? Really should've just left it guesswork, like "I learned enough in intro to forensics that I was able to obscure the DNA results enough to make it look like me" instead of, oh I switched our toothbrushes. Like, really? There would be no way to guess or know that is how they would've ascertained a DNA sample. The Psycho dr and the toothbrush straight up pissed me off. Unfortunate, as this could easily been a 4 or 4.5 star book with a little more credibility. This book is INSANE. But what really impressed me about it is that it seems to know what it is. I definitely feel like this book clearly delineates itself as not a dark romance, but a twisted love story. There's nothing even a little bit romantic about it, in my opinion, and the dark places that it goes are absolutely jarring but ultimately really, really well written and smartly put together. Ultimately it's a really engaging, if incredibly uncomfortable, read that I could put down.
That said, the "twist" wasn't the least bit sneaky and I saw it coming within the first few chapters. Personally, I would have found a different twist to be a lot more satisfying, but... what can you do?
WTF did I just read?
I can tell anything without spoiling.
The only thing is that this book is about a lolita who let men abuse her especially for drugs so BIG BIG triggers warnings.

This book follows Raineys life after moving to Clayton Heights. It's not a nice life, so be warned, you should probably check for triggers
I loved reading the twisty turns of Raineys' story
