This series ended up being much better than the sum of its parts, I'd say. The first book was a bit slow and difficult at times, though ultimately excellent. The second definitely slowed even more and had endless tea which became tiresome- but the plot of it had bigger pay off here in the last of the trilogy. This wasn't the least slow, had a good deal of action, and brought a lot of threads together beautifully.

The concept of the series also remains innovative and exciting, and seeing Breq discover who she is- no longer truly a ship, no longer truly an ancillary, and not a human, either- provides a terrific underscore to the larger bits of action and more obvious plots.

All in all, highly recommend the series.

AAAAAAAAAA

Not a perfect book--definitely something of a rushed ending, and I couldn't totally invest
in Anaander's giving up--and the idea of everyone leaving them alone for several years seems DEEPLY implausible--
BUT with all of that said, I loved this. I loved how the scope widened throughout the books, and Breq/Toren's character development, and SEIVARDEN???????? Ugh. So glad I stuck this series out.

A good conclusion to the trilogy, but the weakest of the three. The ending felt rushed. But I loved the story. Well worth the read.
