oh the emotions

This book gave me so many emotions! The tears were shed! The story continues on another cliffhanger, can’t wait for book four!

All along I have freely admitted that these books are bad because they are. The fact that they are hilariously bad is why I have enjoyed them so much. Unfortunately, Covet commits a far worse crime than being bad. Covet is boring. There is absolutely no reason for these books to be as many hundreds of pages as they are. The entire plot is basically a fetch quest! I get it. Grace needs this to that, and she needs to do that to get this other thing. Any time tension is building in the story, which would finally provide some sort of drive, we take three steps back from it. Some of the chapters are two pages long. Plot arcs do not exist. The plot is nothing. I wasn't even laughing that much anymore! I was praying for freedom because my wrists hurt from holding up this behemoth. It ought to be light as a feather for all of the plot relevant info, but alas it is weighted down by its crimes against the English language. Farewell, hours of my life I spent on this. You were sacrificed for a few chuckles of the words Dior and Armani and the most embarrassing caricature of a British person I have ever read. Still gonna read the next one though, so jokes on me.

This book fell just a bit shorter than the first two for me. Of course I still loved it! I ATE IT UP!! But there were times it did seem to drag a bit for me. Mostly, as a lover of Hudson Vega, I couldn’t get past grace’s constant waffling! If I had to read ‘it’s just the mating bond’ one more damn time! When all of us CLEARLY knew it was not the matting bond! AND FOR HER TO TELL IT TO HIS FACE!! GIRL! Anyway, I glad she finally came to her damn senses, though it sucks that it took going to prison and almost dying more than once for her to figure it out!

It’s very interesting to me how hard I have flipped on the topic of Jaxon Vega. I loved Jaxon in the first book! But now I’m annoyed by him? Just his presence in the scene brings out an eye roll. Even when he died I was not nearly as sad as I should have been. And I don’t think it’s just because he is no longer the love interest. He simply just doesn’t serve a purpose anymore. He’s more of a speed bump the story keeps hitting.

Regardless, this story had a lot going on!! More plot points. More scenes. And though it contributed to slowing the story for me, it’s constant shakeup was really necessary for making the story move along.

IF SOMETHING HAPPENS TO GRACE AND HUDSON IN COURT I WILL THROW I FUCKING FIT! I WILL MAKE IT EVERYONE’S PROBLEM!

I loved it. Definitely needed a brake halfway through though.

This book is so damm long and it took me a while to read but I had such a blast. I wasn't bored at any point. The characters still annoy me at points, but in a fun way.
I'm attached to these characters now and I'm very scared about the next book. I don't think they will all survive till the end.
SpoilerAlso, Flint and Jaxon better end up together or will cry.
