Not too bad. It's been too long since I read the previous volumes in the series, so I can't really compare it to them, but at least the story is moving along! As always, I would have liked to have more chapters with Jon and Arya, since I felt they were the heroes from the first book, but at least we heard something from them here...

Martin will probably need at least a couple more books to wrap this series up...

All I can think of is: "I waited six years, and this is what I got?"

Sorry, George. For six years effort -- during which you relaunched more Wild Card books, reprinted Fevre Dream, and merchandised the hell out of ASOI&F and got a TV show up and running -- we should have had a much better, tighter piece of work. This? This was not that work.

I don't know if I'll bother with the next one... providing it comes out before I turn forty. This was a huge disappointment. Hope you're looking forward to losing another Hugo next year!

Mr. Martin, you are killing me! This book was so much more enjoyable than the previous book in the series. Jon and Tyrion have always been some of my favorite characters, but now I really like Reek, too. I can't wait until book 6. I hope I don't have to wait until 2016.

Abandoned for now as I've declined to return to it for some time.

Good, but it kinda felt like nothing happened the whole book. Or, rather, nothing truly culminated. This book & the last are clearly building up to the final 2 volumes, but nearly 2000 pages of build-up with almost no payoff can be... exhausting. Please hurry up with book 6, George. I need to know what happened to Jon Snow.
